内容概要

　　《英语》（新标准）高中阶段教材是在《英语》（新标准）小学和初中教材的基础上，根据国家《普通高中英语课程标准》中有关高中英语课程的性质、方向、总体教学目标、题材内容等方面的精神，由中英专家、学者合作编写而成。为了配合教科书的使用，帮助学生巩固和掌握所学英语知识，进一步发展综合语言运用能力，我社特聘请具有丰富教学实践经验的一线教师编写了本套《高中英语同步练习与测试》。本套同步练习与测试有以下几个特点：  一、进度与教材同步。本套同步练习与测试为每个模块编写了一套练习题，并加入了期中、期末测试题，完全与教学顺序和时间安排同步，为教师和学生进行测试和自我检测提供了良好的材料。  二、题型丰富，从多个角度对学生进行测试。本套同步练习与测试的题型包括听力、单项填空、短文填词、完型填空、阅读理解、完成句子、翻译句子、书面表达等。从听、读、写、译等多个方面对学生进行测试，练习与测试形式灵活，促进学生全面提高英语水平。　　三、选材丰富，主题贴近课程标准和教材。本套同步练习与测试的听力、阅读理解及写作的主题与课程标准规定的话题一致，与教材主题紧密相关。作者采用从不同角度讨论模块话题的方法编写练习题，使学生可以在熟悉的语言环境下完成试题，进一步掌握好所学知识。　　四、练习题贴近高考要求。本套同步练习与测试的题型是由经验丰富的一线教师总结多年积累的经验选择的。且各种题型的运用都贴近高考的趋势，有利于提高学生对高考的适应能力。　　五、配有听力材料原文和答案，方便教师学生核对答案。在本套同步练习与测试的后面，我们附加了所有练习与测试的听力材料原文和答案。有了这些听力材料原文和答案，可以方便教师和学生在做完练习后自查，分析试题。　　总之，希望本套《高中英语同步练习与测试》能够帮助学生复习和掌握英语知识、培养和提高语言技能，帮助教师评估学生的学习情况，最终使学生取得良好的成绩。

　　As any homemaker who has tried to keep order at the dinner table knows， there is far more toa family meal than food. Sociologist Michael Lewis has been studying 50 families to find out justhow much more.　　Lewis and his co-workers carried out their study by videotaping the families while they ateordinary meals in their own homes. They found that parents with small families talk actively witheach other and their children. But asthe number of children gets larger， conversation gives way tothe parents efforts to control the loud noise they make. That can have an important effect on thechildren. "In general the more question-asking the parents do， the higher the childrens IQ scores，"Lewis says. "And the more children there are， the less question-asking there is."　　The study also provides an explanation for： why middle children often seem to have a hardertime in life than .their siblings. Lewis found that in　families with three or four children， dinnerconversation is likely to centre on the oldest child， who has the most to talk about， and theyoungest， who needs the most attention. "Middle children are invisible，" says Lewis. "When yousee someone get up from the table and walk around during dinner， its the middle child." There is，however， one thing that stops all conversation and prevents anyone from having attention. "Whenthe TV is on，" Lewis says， "dinner is a non-event."
